The exceptional 4-star Chateau de Palaja hotel is located just 8 minutes by car from the famous medieval city of Carcassonne, 8 minutes from Lac de la Cavayère and its Aquaviva park and 9 minutes from the Carcassonne Golf Course. We are very easy to access, just 12 minutes from the motorway, 16 minutes from Carcassonne airport and 13 minutes from Carcassonne SNCF (train) station. Between Toulouse and Narbonne, this 18th century building tastefully renovated by the owners, Cathy and Eric, offers spacious bedrooms and suites as well as access to an outdoor swimming pool, a large garden, and a park with majestic trees classified as " remarkable." The individually designed roomshave air-conditioning heating, a minibar, a safe, a high-definition TV and a private bathroom with a hairdryer and free toiletries.in beautiful, calm grounds, we offer a delicious buffet breakfast that you can enjoy in the delightful breakfast room or in the garden (15 euros per person, free for children aged 6 years or under). You can dine at the excellent on-site restaurant "S Comme..." upon prior reservation (managed independently). Platters with selected cheeses and cold meats, artisan beers, a range of magnificent local wines, andor ice creams made in Carcassonne can be served in the garden each day (to be ordered before 6 p.m). You may also be tempted by access to the gym or by one of Francoises relaxing massages (to be booked in advance) unless you prefer to benefit from the sauna (at an additional cost unless you have a promotional code). You can also enjoy reading some of the 2000 comic books offered in our tastefully decorated lounge. For more energetic guests, electric bikes, perfect for discovering the beautiful village of Palaja, its vines and forests, can be rented on site. We also offer a range of games including; table-tennis, skittles and boules. For your convenience, electric charging stations are available at an additional cost. We acceptmajor credit cards ( included Amex) as well as cash or ANCV.
Please note: we do not accept pets. Electric vehicle charging (Greenup socket) is also available on the property.

The hotel day starts from hour 16:00 and ends at 11:00.

Please note that extra beds and baby cots can only be accommodated upon prior request and only in some of the rooms.

If you want to enjoy the restaurants (on site but run independently from the hotel), you need to book in advance because they can be closed or full. Many other restaurants are within the 5-kilometer perimeter (in the old city of Carcassonne and also in the next village, Cazilhac). My selection is on my website. The hotel also proposes some "planches" with ham and cheese to be enjoyed in the garden (order before 18:00), local beers, local wine, and local ice cream.

Please note that massages must be booked in advance. Sauna access is EUR 20 per hour per person, unless you have a discount voucher.

You can rent electric bikes upon reservation.

All requests for late arrival between 21:30 and 00:00 are possible and subject to confirmation by the property.

A late check-out after 11:00 can be arranged upon request.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.
Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian.
Swimming pool is closed from Sat 1 Nov 2025 until Sun 15 Mar 2026

Deluxe Double Room. This room features air conditioning, a desk, a flat-screen TV, a minibar and a private bathroom with a bath or shower and free toiletries. There is also a corner seating area. Please note this room cannot accommodate an extra bed or baby cot. ;
Large Double or Twin Room. This suite features air conditioning, a desk, a flat-screen TV, a minibar and a private bathroom with a shower, a bath and free toiletries. There is also a seating area. The suite can come with a large double bed or 2 single beds. Bed configuration is upon prior request. Please note that this room cannot accommodate any extra bed or baby cot. ;
Two-Bedroom Suite. This spacefull suite is perfect for 3 or 4 people families. It proposes 2 separated spaces ( with a door between both spaces) and a private bathroom with a shower, a bath and free toiletries. There is also a seating area. Please note that this room cannot accommodate any extra bed nor baby cot. ;
Superior Double Room. This double room has terracotta floor tiles. This room can accommodate an extra bed for a third person ( with an extra 25 eurosnight) or a free baby cot upon prior request only. ;
Comfort Double Room. This room features air conditioning, a desk, a flat-screen TV, a minibar and a private bathroom with a shower and free toiletries. Please note this room cannot accommodate an extra bed or baby cot. One of the room has a walk-in shower and is located on the ground floor. Another is on the second floor and has an old renovated fireplace. Please ask on prior request if you prefer one or the other ( depending on availability). If you need special equipment to be able to welcome guests with reduced mobility, please contact the property. ;
Junior Suite (3-4 persons). This 1 room suite has a private bathroom with a shower and also a bath and free toiletries. There is also a seating area. The suite proposes a very large double bed ( 180x200) and also a very comfortable sofa bed (140x190). This suite can also accommodate an extra bed ( 90x200) for a fifth person (with an extra 25 eurosnight) or a free baby cot upon prior request only.
